About Pinotguy Bob Wolfe

Robert Wolfe is a seasoned Oregon Wine professional who launched the Oregon wine industry’s first e-commerce website in 1991 as The Oregon Pinot Noir Club. Since then, he has sold many millions of dollars of Oregon wine to clients around the country and around the world, serving as a consummate ambassador for all things Oregon Wine.

Wolfe is a Certified Specialist of Wine via The Society of Wine Educators, and has Judged a variety of wine competitions by invitation, including as a founding judge of the Oregon Wine Awards, and the Finger Lakes International Wine Competition, which draws 4K wines from 70 countries and all 50 US states, working as part of an international team of 40 judges. Wolfe has conducted uncountable public wine tastings, classes events, and Zoom presentations at wine stores, charitable galas, wine societies, corporate events, and various other locations around the country. He was invited to address a producer’s convention for Wines of Spain in Madrid in 2010.

Wolfe has authored over 1 million words about wine and the Oregon wine industry for various magazines, newspapers and email newsletters, and published works in The Wine Spectator, Wine & Spirits, Washington Winestyle, The Northwest Palate, The Oregonian, Eugene Weekly, Eugene Magazine, and local newspapers throughout Oregon.

In recent years, Wolfe is a principal of Specialty Wines NW, which innovates ways to partner with significant non-profits in Oregon to raise funds through the use of wine clubs, tasting events, concierge wine procurement and more. He is the director of The Oregon Zoo Foundation Wine Club, which has been successfully operating since mid 2020.
