James Suckling 95 Points!
Top Value From a Great Vintage
Critic James Suckling was the Senior Editor and European Bureau Chief for The Wine Spectator many, many years before launching his own web publication last year. He has recently awarded the value-priced 2015 Cristom Pinot Noir Mt. Jefferson Cuvee a whopping 95 point score. The wine is fabulous, of course -- winemaker Steve Doerner has been doing this for more than 40 years -- and costs less than half the price of Cristom's vaunted single-block bottlings. Don't think too long about this. It's selling fast, especially here in Oregon. While 2015 has already produced a lot of hefty scores for well-price wines, this one is at a completely different level. Don't miss out.
From James Suckling: "The nose is fresh and shows great depth with raspberry crumble, dried wild strawberries, orange peel and milk chocolate shavings. Medium- to full-bodied with lots of spicy, crunchy red fruit, tangy acidity, firm tannins and a long finish. So good now but better in 2019."
