Project M Pinot Noir Filament 2016 - Vinous 92 Points
Regular price $56.00
The 2016 Project M Pinot Noir Filament Vineyard is a juicy, open-knit and multi-layered pinot noir that is very friendly even at this early stage. It pushes out wave after wave of richly textured dark red fruit that are buoyed by balancing acidity, and any tannic structure is currently buried by all the fruit. I hesitate to call it a fruit bomb, because the alcohol is appropriately moderate, but this wine is supple and drinking very prettily right now. Any youthful edges will be subsumed into all the fruit over the next few months. Decant and drink this delicious offering now and over the next 5-7 years.
The Project M Pinot Noir Filament was awarded a Vinous 92 Points, with these notes: "Lurid ruby-red. Dried cherry, boysenberry, cola and a musky floral quality on the deeply perfumed nose. Fleshy and nicely concentrated, offering subtly sweet blue fruit, licorice pastille, allspice and cola flavors that are lifted by a spine of juicy acidity. Surprisingly energetic for its heft and shows no rough edges. Smooth tannins build slowly on a very long, spice-inflected finish that echoes the floral and spice notes."
