Hundred Suns Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard 2017 - Pinotguy 94 Points

Regular price $65.00
The Hundred Suns Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard is dense, intense as most Shea wines tend to be, and youthfully focused as most top-end 2017 pinots tend to be. The density and extract are all there, and with some time in the bottle, this will certainly be a terrific wine - just give it a year or three. Interestingly, Coulter fermented a small part of the Shea fruit via carbonic maceration, a technique which produces brighter, fruitier wine with less skin extraction. This has helped to leaven the infamous Shea intensity a bit, without taking anything from the character of the fruit source. I'm interested to see how this develops with age.n
